The building, at 10930 116th Ave. NE in the Forbes Creek neighborhood, is slated to open in summer 2023.
Ten percent of the project’s units will be included in the ARCH affordable housing program, according to a news release on the project.
"The Pine is perfectly situated near the revitalized Totem Lake Mall and Downtown Kirkland with convenient freeway access, while still set in a neighborhood with a parklike setting,” MainStreet Property Group President Kelly Price said in the release. “What I really love is that the design of The Pine uniquely dovetails with the surrounding forested area and builds upon nature. Because of this, we’ve created design elements unlike any other community in the area.”
The Pine includes a biophilic-themed lobby and an apothecary-themed club room. Designed to achieve U.S. Green Building Council LEED Gold certification, The Pine is being constructed according to Puget Sound Energy (PSE) Built Smart guidelines. It will contain reclaimed building materials from the warehouse previously located onsite; efficient heating/cooling; 100 percent LED lighting; electric car charging stations; energy-efficient windows/appliances; low-flow plumbing fixtures; and sustainable plantings, including drought-tolerant, native plants and green roof.
GenCap Construction Corp. will build The Pine. Other project members include Dahlin, architect; Graphite, interior design; Blueline, civil engineer and landscape architect; Emerald City, electrical engineer; DCI, structural engineer; and O’Brien 360, LEED design. Insite Property Solutions will manage the property.
