Coding Dojo and the The Prison Scholar Fund have announced that they are offering free development training to formerly incarcerated people this year in their expanded partnership. 

Participants are provided with a full-ride scholarship to Coding Dojo’s 16-week Software Development Bootcamp Online Full-Time course where they’ll learn learn web fundamentals such as HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript, as well as three full programming stacks.

No prior coding knowledge is required, and participants are given all hardware needed as well as a living stipend to cover expenses for the duration of the program. 

As noted by Coding Dojo and PSF, research has shown that formerly incarcerated individuals who receive education are 43 percent less likely to return to prison and are also more likely to receive employment post-release.
