Proto101

Proto101 is celebrating the opening of a new flagship store in Bellevue Square May 26.

“We’re building a better planet starting with the basics and we look forward to bringing our thoughtful approach to clothing to Bellevue,” said co-founder Liyin Kok in a release. “The Bellevue Collection has an inspiring group of brands we are excited to grow with. Our first location in downtown Seattle has earned us a loyal customer base and we are grateful to expand to the Eastside community as a Pacific Northwest-based company.”

Proto101 looks to offer the community modern alternatives to disposable, “fast” fashion by sourcing sustainable fabrics, supporting an ethical supply chain, and amplifying the voices of those often put in society's margins.

Motivated by the philosophy that clothing can look good, feel good, and do good, Proto10 said it stands behind its products, and it promises that a tree will be planted for every garment sold. In 2022, Proto101 facilitated the planting of 20,000 trees and took part in an effort to remove 440,000 pounds of carbon dioxide from the environment, the release said.

All items in the collection are under $100 and use fabric from high-quality raw materials engineered with Supima Cottom and Tencel, creating a blend of stretch and structure paired with performance wicking and utility designed to last.

“Proto101 brings such a unique offering to The Bellevue Collection,” said Jennifer Leavitt, vice president of marketing at The Bellevue Collection, in the release. “It introduces a new, forward-thinking philosophy to basic garments that is well-suited for shoppers seeking contemporary, modern, and meaningful apparel. Alongside our shopping center’s current and new roster of shops, we know Proto101’s flagship store will grow its fan base given the success other retailers have seen here.”

During the May 26 grand opening, the store will host a Memorial Day sale and offer giveaway prizes. Normal business will be 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. on Sundays.
